Dusty Rose Scarf

GAUGE:
9 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm).
EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
SCARF
Leaving a 6 in. (15 cm) tail of yarn, chain 16. Set up Row: Make a half double crochet stitch in the 3rd chain from your hook and in each of the chains. Row 1: Chain 2, turn. Make a half double crochet in the first half double crochet and in each half double crochet across.
Repeat Row 1 until only a small amount of yarn remains.
Fasten off.
FINISHING
You will have yarn tails at the beginning and end of your Scarf. Trim each tail to about 6 in. (15 cm) long (no shorter!). To hide these tails, weave the hook in and out of a few stitches of your Scarf near one of the tails. Hook the yarn tail over your crochet hook and pull the tail through the Scarf. Do the same with the other tail.
