Garter Stitch Baby Throw
Lion Brand® Nature's Choice Organic® Cotton
GAUGE: 13 sts + 18 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: Yo (yarn over) An increase that also creates a small eyelet. In this pattern, the yo is worked as follows:
1. Bring yarn to front, between the needles.
2. Take yarn to back, over the right needle. The loop you have created is an increased st and you are now ready to proceed with the next st as instructed. |
NOTES: 1. Throw is worked in one piece, in Garter st (k every row) beginning at one corner and working diagonally across to opposite corner.
2. In the first half of the Throw, 1 st is increased on every row; in the second half of the Throw, 1 st is decreased on every row.
3. Yarn overs (yo) create decorative eyelets along the edges of the Throw.
