Wrapped Giraffe Reviewed by Clem Lyn on 2011-02-28
I used the basic idea from here but created a cow rattle for the baby of a dairy farmer friend!
I used black and white yarn and pink and black nose.
Before joining the cups together I threw in a couple of small bells so that I created a rattle. I sealed in a single chain length of black yarn (to form the tail) at this join and I also used masking tape over the glued join and allowed the tail to poke through then carefully wound the yarn over the cups but allowing the tail to poke through. I added a white tassle feature to complete the tail and this gave bubby a good "handle" to use to swing the rattle.
I was so chuffed with the finished product that I posted the gift off before I thought about taking a pic :(
The next one I intend to do will be a pink pig and will double crochet a length of tail so that it forms a corkscrew handle. I am thinking that a medicine cup may work for the snout so please wish me luck.
