Everyday Hat
Lion Brand® Hometown USA®
GAUGE: 9 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in St st worked in the rnd (k every rnd). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: kfb (knit into front and then back)
An increase worked as follows:
1. Knit the next st through the front loop, but do not remove the st from your left hand needle.
2. Knit the same st once more, this time inserting your needle through the back loop of the st. You will have created 2 loops (sts) on your right hand needle.
3. Drop the st from your left hand needle - 1 st increased. |
NOTES: Hat is worked in rnds on double-pointed needles, from lower edge up to top.

| I was able to make this hat in a day. I made everything as per the instructions and found it just a little big. Will begin crown at just over 8 inches next time. I did have to restart once as I had trouble losing stitches off the ends of the needles so I decided to divide stitches onto 4 needles (which even helped the k2, p2 rib pattern flow better) and breezed right through. I really loved the hometown yarn used in this project, both the color and the texture. Looks great! Even went with the pom-pom.
