Car Blanket
Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick®
GAUGE:
10 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
1. Blanket, including borders, is knit in one piece.
2. Blanket is worked in Stockinette st (k on RS, p on WS), with 5 sts at the beginning and end of each row worked in Garter st (k every row) for side borders. Stitch markers are used to separate the border sts.
3. A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
4. Straps are knit separately and are used to secure Blanket when it is rolled for storage.

Car Blanket Reviewed by Karen Edelin on 2011-07-11
I made this blanket, using the yarn indicated. It is gorgeous. I too, thought it was pricey, but I got my yarn on sale (online). After completing it, I thought the yarn quantity indicated was too much. If you use a fresh skein with each color change, you have fewer loose ends to weave in, but you have significant remnants (35-40% of skein). I didn't do this; I have enough to make a second blanket. You can get away with purchasing 1 less skein of each color; thus, lessening the cost! This color combination is really beautiful. Great, easy project.
