New Year's Purse

Lion Brand® Vanna's Glamour®

GAUGE:

20 sts + 20 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.
sc4tog (sc 4 sts together) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. *Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop; rep from * 2 more times. Yarn over, draw through all 5 loops on hook - 3 sts decreased.
rev sc (reverse single crochet) Single crochet worked from left to right (right to left, if left-handed). Insert hook into next stitch to the right (left), under loop on hook, and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all loops on hook.

NOTES:

DECREASE NOTES
1. Sc2tog and sc4tog are worked over next 2 or 4 sts. When instructed to work "over" sts, this means that you should draw up a loop in each of the indicated sts or ch sps, then yarn over and draw through all loops on the hook to complete the sc2tog or sc4tog.
2. Sc2tog decreases are offset by matching ch-1 increases, so the stitch count will not change.
3. The stitch count will decrease by 2 sts for every sc4tog decrease offset by a ch-1 increase.
