Scalloped Cowl
Lion Brand® Superwash Merino Cashmere
GAUGE: 2 pattern reps + 6 rnds = 5 in. (12.5 cm) in pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES: 1. Cowl is worked in joined rnds. At the end of each rnd, work a sl st to join the last st to the first st. Do not turn at the beg of rnds.
2. To create scallops along both edges, Cowl is worked in two sections by crocheting along both sides of foundation ch.
3. If you are concerned about joining the beg ch into a ring without twisting the ch, you can work Rnd 1 as a row, then join at end of Row 1 as follows: Ch 65, dc in 4th ch from hook (beg ch counts as first dc), sk next 2 ch, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch (shell made), sk next 2 ch, *dc in next 2 ch, sk next 2 ch, shell in next ch, sk next 2 ch; rep from * around; join with sl st in top of beg ch. Use the beginning tail to sew ends of Row 1 together, then follow pattern beg with Rnd 2.

| Made this last year. It was easy and has held up well. I did mine in a deep plum. I love the elegant look. It keeps my neck warm without all the bulk of a scarf. Its the perfect cool weather accessory.
