GAUGE:
7 V-st = about 8 in. (20.5 cm) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Shades of Blue Scarf Reviewed by Katie Wohlgemuth on 2011-12-07
I used the Caribbean color yarn as per the instructions. The only things I disliked were that the weave looks a little tighter on the scarf the model is wearing. This is probably due to my gauge though. I used a J size needle because my gauge was too big with a K. Scarf turned out great and looks beautiful which is nice since it was sooo easy to make. Took no time at all. The only other complaint I have is that at the end of my first skein the colors repeated themselves too close together so I have stripes of one color instead of it being more random. Then when I started the second skein the same color came up again really quickly. Wish the colors were more random like at the beginning of my first skein.
