Rectangle Garter Baby Cardigan

GAUGE:
16 sts + 32 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
1. Cardigan body is knit in one piece, beginning and ending at center front, working sideways around body.
2. Armhole slits are created by slipping sts to holders.
3. Sleeves are knit separately, then sewn into the armholes.

Made it and it was easy. I added a single crochet trim to the front edge and neck edge and to the bottom edge a small croceht scallop to finish it off more neatly. I added a loop with that chain at the neck and will add a cute button. I'd make it again.
