GAUGE:

11 dc = 4 in. (10 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Snowball Stand Baby Set Reviewed by Leslie Hautzinger on 2011-10-20 *****
So far only made the sweater...really looking forward to the blanket.

I tweaked the sweater pattern to have the sleeves "grow out" of the front by chaining appropriate sts needed for sleeve increase, and then when finished second front, chained 15 st from neck and attached first front/sleeve at its neck edge. Then worked across sleeves and back to bottom back.

That way only had 2 side/sleeve seams total.

Made 1 with Baby wool, and 1 with heavier/afghan wool. Only took 10 hours each, and I have only been crocheting for 3 mos !
