Tweed Hat

Lion Brand® Hometown USA®

7 1/4 single crochet = 4 in. (10 cm).

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

Tweed Hat Reviewed by M H on 2015-08-01 *****
I made this hat for my toddler daughter using Jiffy Thick and Quick and an 11.5mm hook and I love how it turned out! I liked how the pattern uses a continuous spiral instead of rounds with the slip stitch/ch1 combo that is usually written for patterns in the round (that always makes an obvious diagonal seam in my projects, but maybe I am doing it wrong).
