Princess Basketweave Throw
Lion Brand® Baby's First®
GAUGE: 12 sts + 20 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Basketweave pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: PATTERN STITCH Seed Stitch (over even number of sts) Row 1: *K1, p1; rep from * across. Row 2: P the knit sts, and k the purl sts. Rep Row 2 for Seed st. |
NOTES: Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.

| It's a lot easier to do the seed stitch on an uneven number of stitches. Then you don't have to remember whether you start the row with a K stitch or a P stitch. Every row will be K1, P1, K1
