GAUGE:
8 sts + 16 rows = 4" (10 cm) on size 11 (8 mm) needles in garter stitch (knit every row) with B BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
HEADBAND With A, cast on 16 (22, 30, 36 ) sts.
Rows 1-2: Knit
Rows 3-4 Change to B. K1, p1 repeat to end of row
Rows 5-6: Change to A. Knit
Bind off, weave in ends. Thread large-eyed blunt needle with (B) and sew ends
together

I made this all in one color. It makes up very quickly and is cute. I would prefer to work it in the round, however, to eliminate the seam.
