With 2 strands of (A) held together (use both ends of skein) make a 44 in
[112 cm] cord, leaving a tail of about 24 inches at the beginning. Change to B,
Continue for 2 inches [5 cm]. Cut yarn and fasten off.
Starting with the orange end (A) coil the cord, into a flat oval shape. Thread a tail onto the needle and use
this to sew the coil in place as you go. When you reach the point
where the cord changes color, that is the stem.
Stop sewing, tie off the end and weave in. Note: If you want to change the angle at which
the stem attaches to the pumpkin, you may want to take a few small, invisible
stitches to position it as you wish.
Thread the black wool-ease (C) onto the large-eyed blunt needle and embroider
a face of your choice.
