HOT PAD
Center
With one strand of (A) and one of (C) held together, make a
strand 4 inches [10 cm] long. Cut yarn and fasten off,
leaving a tail of about 8 inches. Coil the strand in a circle
tightly. Thread one end into the large-eyed blunt needle and
sew together. Weave ends, in, trim.
Petals (make 7)
With two strands of (A) held together (use both ends of skein) make
a cord 2 inches [5 cm] long. Cut yarn and fasten off.
Weave in ends.
With two strands of (B) held together (use both ends of skein),
make a cord 8 inches [20 cm] long. Cut yarn and fasten off,
leaving a tail of about 8 inches. Thread one end into the
large-eyed, blunt needle. Bend the cord into a loop.
Holding the two ends parallel to each other, sew the two ends
together for about a half inch [1 cm]. Insert the short
cord of (A) in the middle of the loop and sew it into place so it
forms the long, brightly colored center of the petal.
Final Assembly
Place the petals around the center with the sewn-together ends in
the center. Sew each petal to the center and then to the petal
next to it for about an inch and a half [4 cm]
