SIZE: Small, Medium, Large, 1X
Directions are for size 42 (46, 50, 54) inches.
Note: Pattern is written for smallest size with changes for larger sizes in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes. To follow pattern more easily, circle all numbers pertaining to your size before beginning.
CORRECTIONS: (applied Jul 10, 2003)
1. Yarn amounts should be: 4
(4, 5, 5) skeins #108 Dusty Blue or solid color of your
choice.
2. ssk definition should be:
Slip next 2 sts, one at a time as if to knit
to right needle, insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and
knit them together from this position.
3. Right Front:
With RS facing place 18 (20, 22, 24) Right Front sts on a needle and
join yarn at front edge.
4. Left Front:
With RS facing place 18 (20, 22, 24) Left Front sts on a needle,
join yarn at armhole edge and work as
foll: Row 1 (RS): K to within 5 sts of end,
k2tog (neck dec), k 3. Row 2: K 3, p to within last 3 sts, k
3. Row 3: Knit. Row 4: K 3, p to within last 3 sts, k 3. Rep last 4
rows until 12 (14, 16, 18) sts remain. Work
even as est until armhole measures 8 ½ (9 ½, 10, 10 ½)” above
underarm bind off. Knit every row for 5 rows. Bind off
loosely.

GAUGE: Prefer refer to PDF for gauge information. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

| This is a great first sweater pattern. Also nice and warm on your shcest in the winter! The deatailing in moss stich is very nice, too.
