GAUGE:

12 sc and 16 rows = 4 in [10 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

One-Stitch Adult Cardigan Reviewed by Regina Cook on 2013-03-20 **
I started crocheting this cardigan and found that the pattern was easy to follow, but it "ate" yarn like crazy. My stitch gauge was correct, and I didn't see any comments about this pattern using more yarn than what it says. So, hmmm, maybe it's just me. After having to buy more yarn a couple of times, and then still coming up short, I was so disgusted with how much money it was costing me that I ripped it out and made something else.
