Harvest Shrug
Lion Brand® Vanna's Choice®
GAUGE:
16 sts + 22 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
PATTERN STITCH K1, p1 Rib (multiple of 2 sts) Row 1: *K1, p1; rep from * to across. Row 2: K the knit sts and p the purl sts. Rep Row 2 for K1, p1 Rib.
NOTES:
Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
SHRUG Cast on 144 sts. Work in K1, p1 Rib until piece measures 2 in. (5 cm) from beg. Work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until piece measures 42 in. (106.5 cm) from beg. Work in K1, p1 Rib until piece measures 44 in. (112 cm) from beg. Bind off.
FINISHING Fold piece in half, bringing cast-on and bound-off edges together, to measure 36 x 22 in. (91.5 x 56 cm). Place markers on each of the 22 in. (56 cm) sides, 7 in. (18 cm) below fold for armholes. Seam each side from marker down to lower edge. Weave in ends.

I call it my Barley Shrug as I used Vanna's Barley color. I absolutely love this pattern. So easy. Im 5'9 and between a size 16-18 so I added about 20 extra stitches and maybe an extra 1-2" in length and fits perfectly. Got lots of compliments...and orders too! LOL
