Lion Brand® Nature's Choice Organic® Cotton

GAUGE:

2 pattern reps = 4 1/2 in. (11.5 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

HAT
Ch 56. Taking care not to twist ch, join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), sk next 2 ch, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch, sk next 2 ch, *dc in next 2 ch, sk next 2 ch, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch, sk next 2 ch; rep from * around to last ch, dc in last ch; join with sl st in top of beg ch – 8 pattern reps at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, turn, sk next 3 dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, dc in next dc, sk next 2 dc, *dc in next 2 dc, sk next 2 dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, dc in next dc, sk next 2 dc; rep from * around to last dc, dc in last dc; join with sl st in top of turning ch.

Rep Rnds 2-4 until piece measures about 8 in. (20.5 cm) from beginning. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Thread a length of yarn through the base of sts of first row and pull to gather. Knot securely. Weave in ends.

This hat is really cute and crochets up really quickly. I wear mine all the time and the cotton yarn makes it comfortable in Spring and Fall.
