GAUGE:
18 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Ch 23. Row 1: (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in 5th ch from hook (fan made), *sk next 3 ch, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch; rep from * across to last 2 ch, sk next ch, dc in last ch - 5 fans at the end of this row. Row 2: Ch 3, turn, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in each ch-1 sp across, dc in top of turning ch.
Rep Row 2 until piece measures 3 (6, 9) in. (7.5 (15, 23) cm) from beg. Fasten off.
FINISHING

Beg at top edge, sew side edges together for 1 in. (2.5 cm), leave next 1 1/2 in. (4 cm) open for thumb, sew remainder of side edges together.

Work up quickly and have a great effect! I gave my sister a pair but used a beautiful cotton yarn. They look so classy. I slip-stitched the sides together and made an edging for the thumb (got the idea from Purlbee.com). That made the wristlets look more finished. Definitely a hit for stylish girls!
