10 stitches + 8 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in half double crochet. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
WRISTERS (make 2)
Row 1: Half double crochet in 3rd chain from hook and in each chain across.
Row 2: Chain 2, turn, half double crochet in each stitch across.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 7 (12) in. (18 (30.5) cm) from beginning. Fasten off.
Beginning at top edge, sew side edges together for 1 in. (2.5 cm), leave next 1 1/2 in. (4 cm) open for thumb, sew remainder of side edges together.
Weave in ends.
Super quick & easy to do. My fingers get so cold on my computer at work, I made these to wear there. Made the 7-inch length and the size was perfect for my hands. I did move the thumb opening down when seaming so they would cover more of my fingers.
