Imogene Scarf
Lion Brand® Hometown USA®
GAUGE: 1 pattern repeat (2 shells) = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: dc2tog This decrease is worked in 3 steps as follows:
Step 1: Yarn over, insert hook into next st or ch and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops (first half of dc2tog complete);
Step 2: Yarn over, insert hook into st or ch indicated in pattern (you will be skipping chs or sts) and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through 2 loops (second half of dc2tog complete);
Step 3: Yarn over and draw through all loops on hook – dc2tog complete and 1 st has been decreased.

This is really cute. I used a smaller hook so mine came thinner (skinnier). I used a real pretty cinnamon wool and then every 10 rows I put in an aqua blue row for contrast.
Once you get a rhythm going, this works up very quick.
(And thank you to my model Tess)
