Simple Garter Hat
Lion Brand® Fishermen's Wool®
GAUGE: 16 stitches + 22 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter stitch (knit every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

| This is my first knitting project. It was extremely simple to make not to mention relaxing. But it came out too small. =( The gauge was correct and I stitched to 8 inches as suggested. I wanted to do a little more looking at the size of it but after reading the previous reviews about it being too large I decided that the 8 inches should be good. I might add that I have a small head for a grown woman too. ;) It may not fit me but looks awesome on my 8 year old daughter.
