Metropolis Scarf

GAUGE:

16 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in K2, p2 rib, slightly stretched. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

PATTERN STITCH
K2, p2 Rib (multiple of 4 sts + 2)
Row 1: Sl 1, k1, *p2, k2; rep from * across row.
Row 2: Sl 1, p1, *k2, p2; rep from * across row.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for K2, p2 Rib.

SCARF
With A, cast on 34 sts. Work in K2, p2 Rib until piece measures about 157 in. (399 cm) from beginning. Bind off.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.
