Lion Brand® Vanna's Choice® Baby

GAUGE:

Exact gauge is not essential to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook– 1 st decreased.
TBL (Through Back Loop) Work through back loop only of st.

NOTES:

1. Work in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed.
2. Sts worked through back loops (TBL) will be used to create the mane. If not indicated as TBL, sts should be worked in the usual way (through both loops).

LION MITT
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 scTBL in each st around – 12 sts.
Rnd 3: *2 scTBL in next st, scTBL in next st, rep from * around – 18 sts.
Rnd 4: *2 scTBL in next st, scTBL in each of next 2 sts, rep from * for a total of 4 times, (2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts) twice – 24 sts.
Rnd 5: *2 scTBL in next st, scTBL in each of next 3 sts, rep from * for a total of 4 times, (2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts) twice – 30 sts.
Rnd 6: ScTBL in each of next 20 sts, sc in the next 10 sts – 30 sts.
Rnds 7-10: Sc in each of the next 2 sts, scTBL in each of next 16 sts, sc in each of last 12 sts.
Rnds 11-14: Sc in each st around. Change to B.
Rnds 15-16: Sc in each st around. Change to A.
Rnd 17: Sc in each st around. Change to B.
Rnds 18-19: Sc in each st around. Fasten off.

EARS (make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 4 sc in first ch. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Mane
From right side, join B with sl st in front loop of first TBL on Rnd 2.
Rnd 1: *Ch 5, sl st into front loop of next TBL of Rnd 2, rep from * around. Rep Rnd 1 over all TBL sts of Scrubber. Sew on Ears. With C, embroider French knot eyes and straight st nose and mouth.
Hanging Loop
Join B with sl st at open edge of Scrubber. Ch 12, join with sl st in beg ch. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
