Lion Brand® Cotton-Ease®
GAUGE: 16 sc = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: | hdc2tog (hdc 2 sts together) Yarn over, insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over and draw through all 5 loops on hook - 1 st decreased. |
NOTES: To change color work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st.

BIB
Beg at lower edge of Bib, with A, ch 17.
Row 1: Work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across to last ch, 2 sc in last ch - 18 sts.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc (increase made), sc in each sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc - 20 sts at end of this row.
Rows 3 and 4: Rep Row 2 - 24 sts at the end of Row 4.
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Rows 6-20: Rep Row 5. Change to B in last st of Row 20.
Rows 21-24: With B, rep Row 5.
Row 25: With B, ch 2, turn, hdc2tog, hdc in next 6 sts, sc in next 8 sts, hdc in next 6 sts, hdc2tog - 22 sts remain at the end of this row.
Row 26: Ch 2, turn, hdc2tog, hdc in next 5 sts, sc in next 8 sts, hdc in next 5 sts, hdc2tog - 20 sts.
Row 27: Ch 2, turn, hdc2tog, hdc in next 4 sts, sc in next 8 sts, hdc in next 4 sts, hdc2tog - 18 sts.
Row 28: Ch 2, turn, hdc2tog, hdc in next 3 sts, sc in next 8 sts, hdc in next 3 sts, hdc2tog - 16 sts.
Fasten off.
EYES (make 2)
With B, ch 2.
Work 6 sc in first ch. Fasten off.
EYEBROWS (make 2)
With B, ch 8.
Row 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each of next 2 ch, 2 sc in next ch, sc in each of next 2 ch, sl st in next ch. Fasten off.
TEETH (make 2)
With C, ch 7.
Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st in next ch. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Edging
From RS, join B with a sl st at beg of B section on right hand side of Bib. Work sc evenly spaced around outside edge of Bib to end of B section, changing to A in last st. With A, work sc evenly spaced around remainder of Bib. Fasten off.
Ties
From RS, join B with a sl st at one top corner of Bib. Ch 40 (or to desired length). Fasten off. Rep on opposite corner for second tie.
With pink yarn, embroider a straight st smile. Sew Teeth beneath smile. Sew on Eyes. Sew Eyebrows above Eyes. Weave in ends.
