GAUGE:

Rnds 1 and 2 = 4 in. (10 cm) diameter. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st.

COLOR SEQUENCE: Work 5 rnds with A, 5 rnds with B, 5 rnds with C, 5 rnds with A, 5 rnds with B, 5 rnds with C, 4 rnds with A, and 1 rnd with B.

I enjoyed making this pattern. I do like to make afghans that grow from the middle as it is easier to adjust yarn usage or left over from various projects. I made one for a baby girl and put a cork screw trim on it that I tied into bows at the increase points. Also, I use bobby pins as my markers to make it easier to feel in the dark & easy in/out. I crochet while we watch movies using a handsfree head light so we can enjoy the movie with all the lights on and this pattern was great to work in the dark :)
