GAUGE:

24 sts + 11 1/2 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) over pattern.

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

1. Top is worked in one piece from lower Back edge up to shoulder. The piece is then divided and the Right Front worked. The Left Front is then worked directly onto the completed piece.
2. Edging is worked around the entire outside edge of Top. The Edging will add width and length to the Fronts and Back.
3. After the Edging is worked, Sleeves are worked directly onto the Top.

Flutter Baby Top Reviewed by Christine Taylor on 2013-04-16 *****
This pattern is so very cute when finished. After making my first one I memorized the pattern and then made and completed a larger one for a five year old by using thicker yarn and a larger hook. I am now planning to make a multicolored version, I think it will look awesome!
Don't be put off by the chart, the pattern apart from a couple of rows is very easy to follow.
