GAUGE: 18 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) over pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES: Editor's Note: In response to customer comments, we have rewritten this pattern for clarity.
1.Hat is knit with 2 stands of yarn held together throughout.

| Chill in the Air Cap Reviewed by LR on 2013-01-01 |

| This is the first hat I've ever knit and the first cables I've ever worked. Although I made a swatch I must have changed tension during knitting because I made it a bit too big. But I liked it, it was easy and my son likes that it fits on his head over his headphones. ;0)
