Cozy Luxe Baby Throw
Lion Brand® Baby's First®
GAUGE: 11 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) over Lace Pattern and Seed st. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: sk2p slip 1 st as if to knit, knit 2 sts together, pass slipped stitch over - 2 sts decreased.
ssk (slip, slip, knit)- slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time to right needle, insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and knit them together - 1 st decreased.

Rep Rows 1-20 for Lace Pattern. |
NOTES: 1. Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
2. Lace Pattern is a multiple of 12 sts + 1 and is worked over center 85 sts of the Afghan. Place a marker after every 12-st rep of Lace Pattern and count your sts after every row to be sure you have 12 sts in every rep. On Row 19 of the Lace Pattern, the pattern rep will shift one st to the right, you will need to move your markers on this row, then move markers back one st to the left to begin Row 1 of the Lace Pattern.

| The directions are very clearly written. I did obtain the correct gauge but had to move up to a size 11 needle. I have found that the number of balls of yarn called for in the directions is off. There is no way I will be able to do 8 repeats of the pattern with only five balls of yarn. I was lucky enough to be able to order some additional yarn with the same dye lot number. I calculate I will need one extra ball based on what I have used up to date.
