GAUGE:
5 1/2 V-sts = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

I am currently working on this with Vanna's Choice Baby acrylic yarn in "Pink Poodle" while I wait for more Baby's First yarn for another project I'm in the middle of. I normally dislike acrylic yarns but this is turning out absolutely DARLING! And it's a whiz to do! The pattern is so easy, the weight of the blanket is quite nice, and it's fairly good sized. Am planning to do the edge in a vanilla color with maybe a satin ribbon threaded through. I think 7 skeins of the Vanna's Choice Baby will be enough, and I'm using an "H" hook. VERY pleasant project to work on while I'm waiting for that other yarn! I'll post a photo when I'm finished.
