GAUGE: One Square = 7 in. (18 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

SQUARES (make 8 each using A and B, 7 each using C and D)
With A, chain 22.
Row 1: Half double crochet in 3rd chain from hook and in each chain across – 21 stitches (beginning chain counts as 1 stitch).
,b>Rows 2-13: Chain 2, turn, half double crochet in each stitch across.
Fasten off.
FINISHING
Following diagram, sew Squares together. Weave in ends.
