STITCH EXPLANATION:

PATTERN STITCHES
Star Stitch (multiple of 3 sts)
Rows 1 and 3 (WS): With A, purl.
Row 2: With A, k2, *yo, k3, with tip of left hand needle, lift the first of the 3 knit sts over the 2nd and 3rd sts, then off needle; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 4: With A, k1, * k3, lift the first of the 3 knit sts over the 2nd and 3rd sts, then off needle, yo; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Rows 5 and 6: With B, rep Rows 1 and 2.
Rows 7 and 8: With A, rep Rows 3 and 4.
Rows 9 and 10: With A, rep Rows 1 and 2.
Rows 11 and 12: With C, rep Rows 3 and 4.
Rows 13 and 14: With A, rep Rows 1 and 2.
Rows 15 and16: With A, rep Rows 3 and 4.
Rows 17 and 18: With D, rep Rows 1 and 2.
Rep Rows 1-18 for Star st.

NOTES:

Carry color(s) not in use along side edge of work.

WASHCLOTH
With A, cast on 42 sts.
Rep Rows 1-18 of Star st until piece measures about 10 in. (25.5 cm) from beginning. Bind off.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.

This turned out really well and was great fun to do. I used different colors, but they looked good. I enjoyed the knitting because my left hand got to do things instead of just holding. This made it much more relaxing and I could knit longer at a stretch.
