STITCH EXPLANATION:

Seed Stitch (worked over an odd number of sts)
Row 1: K1, *p1, k1, rep from * across.
Row 2: K the purl sts and p the knit sts.
Rep Row 2 for Seed st.

Basketweave (over 35 sts)
Row 1 (WS): Purl.
Row 2: K3, *p5, k3; rep from * across.
Row 3: P3, *k5, p3; rep from * across.
Row 4: Rep Row 2.
Row 5: Purl.
Row 6: P4, *k3, p5; rep from * across to last 7 sts, k3, p4.
Row 7: K4, *p3, k5; rep from * across to last 7 sts, p3, k4.
Row 8: Rep Row 6.
Rep Rows 1-8 for Basketweave.

WASHCLOTH
Cast on 43 sts.
Work in Seed st for 5 rows.
Next Row: Work in Seed st as established over first 4 sts, work Row 1 of Basketweave to last 4 sts, work in Seed st over last 4 sts.
Continue as established, working first and last 4 sts in Seed st and remaining sts in Basketweave until piece measures about 9 in. (23 cm) from beginning.
Work in Seed st for 5 rows.
Bind off.

Beautiful, simple pattern! I'm a beginner and it was very easy for me to stitch in a short amount of time. Looks way more complicated than it actually is, which is really rewarding to see when it's finished. I will be making more of these pretty dishcloths for practice!
