STITCH EXPLANATION:

PATTERN STITCHES
Seed Stitch
Row 1: K1, *p1, k1, rep from * across.
Row 2: K the purl sts and p the knit sts.
Rep Row 2 for Seed st.


WASHCLOTH
Cast on 41 sts.
Work in Garter st (k every row) for 4 rows.
Row 1 (RS): K4, * (p1, k1) twice, p1, k2; rep from * to last 9 sts, (p1, k1) twice, p1, k4.
Row 2: K4, * (p1, k1) twice, p3; rep from * to last 9 sts, p1, (k1, p1) twice, k4.
Rows 3 and 5: Rep Row 1.
Rows 4 and 6: Rep Row 2.
Rows 7-10: Knit.
Rep Rows 1-10 seven more times, for a total of 80 rows.
Next Row: Knit.
Bind off.

FINISHING

You have to pay attention while you knit this one. Best to use a solid colored yarn. I used a stripe yarn and it really obscured the intricate pattern. A little too fussy for a dishcloth, but a pretty pattern.
