First Fall Knit Hat
Lion Brand® Vanna's Choice®
GAUGE:
14 stitches + 28 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter Stitch (knit every stitch on every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Work in Garter Stitch (knit every stitch on every row) until piece measures about 9 in. (23 cm) from beginning.
Bind off, leaving a long tail.
FINISHING Thread cast-on tail into blunt needle, then sew seam. Thread tail from bound-off edge into blunt needle, then sew in and out along last row. Pull (like a drawstring) to gather top of hat and knot. Weave in ends.

My first project. FUN/EASY!!! I smiled when I finished the hat. A pfoject that you can teach children. I will make more in other types of yarns. Loved the results
