NECKLACE AND BRACELET
Cut a length of elastic 4 in. (10 cm) longer than desired length of Necklace or Bracelet. Tie yarn and elastic together at one end, leaving long tails. Beginning at knot, wrap yarn around elastic to about 2 in. (2.5 cm) from other end. When elastic is completely wrapped, knot yarn to elastic. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail.
Decorate
Slip yarn-wrapped elastic length into the dowel rod until a few inches emerge at opposite end of rod. With a doubled strand of yarn, tie yarn to elastic at this point, leaving a long tail, and wrap once around elastic. Wrap yarn around dowel rod, then slide yarn from rod to elastic. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Make as many yarn wraps as desired. Vary the size and thickness of the wraps as desired.

FINISHING
Tie ends of elastic together (to make a loop), then wrap knot and yarn. One at a time, thread yarn tails into blunt needle and weave tails under wrapped yarn.
