GAUGE:

6 sts + 4.75 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Cuddle Bunny Blanket Reviewed by Adrienne Hendrickson on 2014-04-13 ****
I read all the reviews before making this and opted to use a bulky acrylic-nylon yarn that can be machine washed and dried.
After a couple of rows, I couldn't see the point of the spaces (and they were hard to see!) so I ripped out and started over. I started with 3sc in the first row and then just increased by 2 stiches in each row. I more or less followed the pattern from there.
Like someone else, there are these holes at the base of the head. I think I'll add a chain or sc ribbon threaded through the holes.
I'm up in the air about a face -I may leave it off.
