GAUGE:
12 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Woven st. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
sl 2 wyif (slip 2 sts with yarn in front): Slip next 2 sts to right hand needle, with yarn carried across the front of the work (the side of the work that is facing as you knit).
sl 2 wyib (slip 2 sts with yarn in back): Slip next 2 sts to right hand needle, with yarn carried across the back of the work (the side of the work that is not facing as you knit).

I just finished this pattern and I love how it turned out. Once the pattern kicks in, you will be amazed at the weave and texture. My son will hopefully cherish this throw forever and I can't wait to make another one...for me. Happy knitting.
