Swift River Hat
Lion Brand® LB Collection® Baby Alpaca
GAUGE: 29 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) over Color Pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

FINISHING
Cord
Cut a 40 in. (101.5 cm) length of A and fold in half. Slip folded end over a doorknob and knot remaining end. Slip a knitting needle or pencil through the knotted end. Turn the needle to twist the strands clockwise until they are tightly twisted. Keeping the strands taut, fold the piece in half, remove the needle and allow the Cord to twist on itself.
With Cord on WS of Hat, pull each end of Cord separately through to RS at top Hat. Knot ends to secure Cord to top of Hat. Knot each end of Cord, about 2 in. (5 cm) from end. Allow ends to untwist below knots.
Weave in ends.

| Swift River Hat Reviewed by ROBIN SCHOGOL on 2010-10-21 |

Blacks suit me better than browns, so I changed the colors. I love it! I get a ton of compliments, and I will make it for a few family members, too. I opted not to put tassels on.
It took a little practice to get the pattern right, but once I did the hat knitted up quickly, and it's very soft and warm.
