GAUGE:

18 sts + 14 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

River Bank Afghan Reviewed by Lisa McGhee on 2012-09-28 *****
I made this Afghan in Vanna's Choice yarns. It turned out wonderful! It was for my 14 year old grandson. I doubled the length because he is already 5'11''. I used Vanna's slate blue, silver blue, and brown.
Each of my grandchildren get an Afghan. It is a precious gift they will have for a long time. My mother did it for my children. They still have theirs today.
