Afternoon Breeze Shawl
Lion Brand® Nature's Choice Organic® Cotton
GAUGE: 8 hdc + 11 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

I crocheted this shawl as a gift for mother's day. Due to the size of the item and the ease of the stitch, I was able to complete this project very quickly. To estimate your length: one ball of yarn gave me approximately one foot in length. The nature of the stitch gives it some stretch-ability which I thought was a nice side effect. I do suggest adding a simple edging to the two ends of the shawl for a more finished look. The difference it made was worth the extra effort.
Also, it could be the lighting or perhaps a misprint but you should note that the pattern describes a yarn color that appears much darker than what is seen in the sample photo. The color chosen in my picture is Vanna's "Taupe".
My mother absolutely loves the shawl, she prefers to wrap it around her rather than let it hang. It is perfect for Spring and Fall weather. Thanks Lion-Brand for the great idea!
