GAUGE:

16 sts + 23 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Seed st. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

STITCH EXPLANATION:

4/5 RC (4 over 5 right cross) Sl 5 sts to cable needle and hold to back of work, k4, then k5 from cable needle.
4/5 LC (4 over 5 left cross) Sl 4 sts to cable needle and hold to front of work, k5, then k4 from cable needle.
M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal thread lying between needles and placing it onto left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop.

Overall an easy pattern to follow and nice because it used 1 skein as directed. I used 2x2 rib for my boarder and not the seed stitch indicated. I did not like the cabling at all and think it looks really weird. You can really see how odd it looks by the picture. Will not make again.
