Lake District Hat
Lion Brand® Sock-EaseTM
GAUGE: 26 stitches = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter stitch (knit every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

| I'm just finishing up this hat and found that the number of stitches is too many, even for my big head. I ended up decreasing at the end until I ended up with about a dozen stitches, by knitting 2 together every 10 stitches, then 9, etc. It gave the top of the hat the right shape, but the bottom is too big. I like the stripe effect of the yarn, but am disappointed with the result.
