GAUGE:

9 dc + 5 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STRIP (make 6)
Ch 131.
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch (counts as first dc) from hook and in each ch across – 129 dc.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn. Dc in each st across.
Rows 3-8: Rep Row 2. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Lay 2 Strips lengthwise, side by side. From RS, join yarn with sc to first st on first Strip, ch 3, sc into first st on second Strip, ch 4, sk 2 sts on the first Strip and sc in next st, * ch 4, sk 3 sts on second Strip and sc in next st; working back and forth between the Strips, rep from * to end, working a ch 3 between last sts on both Strips.
Join remaining Strips in the same manner. Weave in ends.
