GAUGE:

18 sts + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Studio Blanket Reviewed by Celia Halkovich on 2012-02-09 ****
Made this using heather gray, oxford gray, and white frost. I had an entire ball of white frost left over, the white blocks came out considerably looser and had a more open weave than the other colors. Oxford gray came out nice and compact, and heather gray was in-between. I used the same needles for everything. This was problematic when it came time to sew the pieces together. Also, white frost sheds. I was at a loss to figure out the correct way to sew the pieces together. I am not a crocheter, but I managed to fudge a consistent method of sewing to avoid having to stretch mis-matched weave to each other. I am not an experienced knitter, maybe there is a difference in the weight of the yarns I used, but I used the brand recommended, that's just how it came out. All in all, it is a cute warm blanket!
