GAUGE:

16 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

Inc 1 st (kfb): knit the next stitch without removing it from the needle, then k through back of same st to inc 1 stitch.

NOTES:

1) Modular Knitting is way of giving a ‘patchwork’ effect to your knitting without picking up stitches or seaming. In the Modular Scarf pattern, you will work a series of triangles that are built atop one another.
2) Sl all sts as if to knit.

SCARF
Cast on 18 sts.
Right Triangle

Row 2: Sl 1, k to end.
Note: Move yarn behind the work before you sl 1, k to end. This will ensure a neat edge.

Yin Yang Scarf Reviewed by linda winlock on 2009-09-04 **
This is fun to knit but the finished product is not very pretty. I would try using bigger needles. Wool ease makes the scarf very heavy.
