Easy Peasy Sweater Set

Lion Brand® Babysoft®

15 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every row) with 1 strand of A and B held tog. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

Sweater Set is worked with 2 strands of yarn held tog throughout.

Rows 1-6:
Work in Garter st with 1 strand each of A and B held tog.
Rows 7-10: Work in Garter st with 1 strand each of A and C held tog.
Repeat Rows 1-10 for Stripe Pattern.

With 1 strand each of A and B held tog, cast on 45 (49, 53) sts. Knit 4 rows.
Next Row: Work in Stripe Pattern, beg with Row 5, until piece measures 4 (4 1/2, 5) in. (10 (11.3, 12.5) cm) from beg, end with a WS row.

I am a novice knitter and I was able to understand and do this sweater set.
I love the way it came out
and will make it over and over again.
