18 sts + 24 rnds = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st worked in the rnd (k every rnd). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right needle; insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and knit them tog.
Kfb (increase 1 st) Knit next st without removing it from left needle, then k through back of same st.

K1, p1 Rib (worked in the rnd)
Rnd 1: *K1, p1; rep from * around.
Rnd 2: K the knit sts and p the purl sts.
Rep Rnd 2 for K1, p1 Rib.

*Work 3 rnds with A, 3 rnds with B; rep from * for Stripe Sequence.

1. Body is worked in one piece beg at lower edge. Sleeves are knit separately, then worked together with Body for yoke.

With B, beg with a RS row, work in St st for 5 more rows.

Raglan Tee Reviewed by Mary Saunders on 2011-12-09 **
I made this sweater in Vanna'a Choice and am happy with my final results. However, I had to make some design changes so it would work for me. First: I changed the sleeves to made in the round instead of flat. Second: had to change the underarm sleeve body join. Third: changed the reglan yoke decreases to every other round instead of every third round.
Fourth: changed the shaping of the neck. I would only recommend the pattern as written to an experienced knitter.
