11 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in Stockinette st worked in the rnd (k every rnd) with 1 strand each of A and B held tog. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Playful Poncho Reviewed by Heather Clardy on 2013-01-10
Loved the look of this poncho. My big disappointment is the yardage was incorrectly calculated. So, if you are going to do this pattern, make sure you buy 2 SKEINS of EACH YARN. You cannot cut corners. Also, i needed assistance and lion customer service got back to me quickly. You continue to increase thru first set of stripes. Lion needs to include the total number of stitches once all increases are complete. Lastly, buy the longest circular needles you can get our hands on. You will need them. :)
